New MBD Ready Check Brings Semantic PMI Validation into Creo
|
Capvidia has introduced MBD Ready Check for Creo, a new capability within MBDConnect for Creo, Capvidia’s plug-in inside PTC Creo for validating and preparing model-based definition data before it moves downstream.
MBD Ready Check evaluates Product and Manufacturing Information during design to verify that annotations are semantic, accurate, and machine-readable. It helps Creo users:
- Identify non-semantic annotations
- Detect missing or incorrect feature references
- Flag incomplete features and unstable geometry references
- Find incorrect datums, orientation, grouping, and nominal values
- Verify that feature multipliers match the referenced geometry
- Automatically repair select issues when the correct solution is clear
These checks help prevent annotation problems from reaching manufacturing, inspection, CMM, and other downstream applications.
MBD Ready Check can also work alongside Engineering Checker, which validates models against configurable company requirements for annotations, dimensions, parameters, combined states, layers, symbols, and modeling practices.
Together, the tools help engineers catch problems earlier, reduce repeated export-and-validation cycles, and improve the quality of data entering the digital thread, all without leaving Creo.
